As you may already know, since the introduction of Canon's new range of ink tanks which contained a chip that records the ink level, it has been difficult for customer to find an easy-to-use alternative source of compatible products for this range of cartridges.

Once the chip detects that the ink level has become “empty”, you would need to disable the ink status monitor if you still wished to use the cartridge – a process that Canon slyly buried deep within its trouble-shooting section of its online manuals.

•  Detach the chip off the Canon cartridge and fix it unto a new, pre-filled compatible cartridge.
